THEOLOGY

Theology
on Stage
In the
middle ages, the
collaborative practice
of playmaking was
integral
to the way the church
taught scripture to the
common man.
Unfortunately, as
literacy and
availability of Bibles
increased, the
necessity
for Theatre in the
church decreased and the
study of scripture
became a
more individualized
practice. In this class,
you'll learn a bit
about the
history of sacred
Theatre practices and
then put knowledge
into
practice, engaging with
bible stories and poetry
through oral
interpretation,
improvisation, and
collaborative
performance. If
interested, there are
also two great field
trip opportunities to
see
The Last Days of Judas
Iscariot at UW
School of Drama and
The Great
Divorce at Taproot
Theatre. No previous
performance experience
necessary. Class will
meet Mondays from 6-7:30
at a location TBA.
